Alexander Rusetski Resume
Tens of thousands people perished after complicated and multilateral conflicts existing in the Caucasus. More than million (!!!!!) individuals were forced to leave their own homes and land and became fugitives. What’s more unfortunate, escalation process is still on.
The main problem that hampers the resoultion of these conflicts is ignoring fundamental reasons. First of all it refers to non-adequate perception of a system and a concept of a conflict resulting in non-adequate peaceful process, i.e. creation of quazi-peaceful processes.
It is unfortunate that among many separate works there is no serious scientific document, which would describe current conflicts and so-called ‘peacfull processes’ from a complex viewpoint.
A special task force with high legitimity should have been formed for creating such a work. It did not happen.
There are two psychological problems represented in the article as well: 1. Ethnization of the conflict perception- “Kae-Problem” “Kae-problem” is revealed when the conflict, that started on the common, everyday-life grounds and ended up at international level, are perceived from the perspective of “ethnic glasses”.
In such a case the real party, real group of interest of the conflict is hidden and we struggle with completely different subject. In other words new type, in this case- ethnical- conflict is created. For instance, we use terms: “Russian boot”, “Ossetians started fire”, etc. Instead of “Georgia-Russia”, we use the term- “Georgian-Russian”. This is not normal, especially for the polyethnic country.
2. Primitivization of the conflict perception- “Kap-problem”. “Kap-problem” minimizes comlicated, multisided conflicts into one component. For instance, minimizing the current conflict to Georgia-Russia conflict, or before- to Georgia-Abkhazia or Georgia- Ossetia conflicts.
This false perception might be a result of manipulation on our consciousness by outside factors, in other words information area and attitude is artificially formed, which simplifyes the conflict picture. Special symbols and definitions are used for this purpose. Their phonosemantic effect gives absolutely different picture. Thus a pseudo-conflict is formed. Special services work on this and Georgian government not only fails to monitor this process, but promotes disseminating these terms intentionally or unintentionally. Numerous number of such expamles can be found in the book on Southern Caucasian securuty- “Georgia- informational threats and security issues”.
