Resume

The new realities caused by August, 2008 Russia-Georgia War put into the agenda the necessity of important changes in Southren Caucasian states, as well as in the politics to be conducted by international community.

The August war resulted in creating new, different realities in the region and around it, but the main question is if these realities removed from the agenda the most dangerous issue for the region (from a local, as well as from broader perspective- for instance the whole Caucasus and Black Sea region) and for international security – handling the existing political-etnical conflict resolution.

Unless conflicts are resolved fairly and finally in the Southern Caucasus, as well as Black Sea Region, the perspective of creating realistic security regime is quite unlikely.
After falling apart of the Soviet Union and restoring the independence of the Southern Caucasus States, the international commuity- World- and especially European-leading international organizations-have been often active in perceiving and regarding the Southern Caucasus as the unanimous region of common interests and a subject of certain interests from the part of international community.

The Southern Caucasus states have different vision and interests in one and main issue- the military-political security.

The European Union, alongside with the USA, should actively take care of managing processes in the Southern Caucasus, decreasing tensity and inevitable integration of these states into the West. This is the interest of the states of this Region , as well as the interest of the European community.

It is of substantial importance to continue democratization and integration process with Euroepan community in the states of the Region for ensuring realistic success that would be a foundation for fair and final resolultion of conflicts by the restoring the territoral integrity of the Region’s states.
